Saying Goodbye

Saying Goodbye

       Henry S. Couvillon

It is not always easy.
This tug on my heart.
The pride in my veins.
Sadness of being apart.

Life was always busy.
Never without a friendly word.
Concern for others abounded.
Do you realize you were heard?

Teaching was your passion,
Prying minds beyond their gate,
Opening them to thinking,
Daring them to cogitate.

There is a time for parting.
A time to weep and mourn.
Folks still think kindly of you,
I am proud to you I was born.
